McCrometer V-Cone® Flowmeter

The Right Flowmeter

The VCone AdvantageThe V-Cone Flow Meter is an advanced differential pressure instrument, which is ideal for use with liquid, steam or gas media in rugged conditions where accuracy, low maintenance and cost are important. With its DP built-in flow conditioning design, the V-Cone is especially useful in tight-fit and retrofit installations in which the long runs of straight pipe required by Orifice Plates, Venturi Tubes, and other technologies are either impractical or unavailable.

The V-Cone is designed for today’s most challenging oil / gas production, chemical, food & beverage, plastics, pharmaceuticals, district HVAC, textile, power and water & wastewater applications. The V-Cone is a better solution. It combines exceptional performance, low maintenance and long life for superior value.

VConeMcCrometer’s V-Cone is an advanced flow meter that takes differential pressure flow measurement to a new level. The V-Cone’s advanced DP technology actually pre-conditions the flow stream for superior measurement accuracy. It has proven its performance in the rugged oil/gas, chemical, process and water industries in some of the harshest operating conditions and in a wide variety of fluid types. In these applications, the V-Cone consistently outperforms traditional DP devices, such as orifice plates and venturi tubes, and other flow technologies. The V-Cone offers a number of unique advantages that include:

  • High accuracy - up to ±0.5% of reading and 0.1% repeatability
  • Wide flow range with high turndowns of 10:1
  • Space-saver design reduces straight pipe runs by up to 70%
  • Design flexibility -- operates in line sizes from 0.5 to 120 inches
  • Testing to API 22.2 confirms V-Cone's performance
  • Measures liquid in challenging flow conditions, such as swirl
  • Self-cleaning design allows measurement of dirty fluids
  • Measures steam reliably under high-pressure conditions
  • No-moving parts sensor design rarely (if ever) requires recalibration
  • Low maintenance and long-life with low total cost of ownership
