RTM TLM-521 tank mixing eductor — investment cast stainless steel

No Moving Parts

Zero mechanical components means minimal maintenance, no shaft seals, no impellers, and no lubrication requirements.

4–5× Flow Amplification

When operated at 10–60 PSI pressure drop, the TLM-521 entrains at least 4–5× as much tank liquid as the motive fluid used.

Compact In-Tank Mounting

Submerged mounting eliminates costly overhead support structures and does not interfere with other tank equipment.

Open or Closed Tanks

Suitable for a wide variety of open vessels and enclosed tanks across food, chemical, refining, and general process industries.

How Tank Mixing Eductors Work

A predetermined amount of liquid — called the operating fluid — is pumped through a header pipe to one or more TLM-521 eductors submerged inside the tank. As the operating fluid leaves the nozzle, it creates a high-velocity jet that dramatically reduces local pressure (the Venturi effect).

This low-pressure zone draws in surrounding tank liquid at 4–5× the motive flow rate — no pump, no impeller, just fluid physics. The motive fluid and entrained liquid mix thoroughly in the parallel section before discharging as a powerful plume that circulates the entire tank.

In most cases, the TLM-521 will produce a homogeneous mixture of the vessel contents in one to three turnovers. To calculate required turnover time, divide tank volume by the result of (number of eductors × outlet flow in GPM).

RTM TLM521 Series — Multiple Sizes & Connections

01
Motive Fluid Enters
A recirculating pump delivers operating fluid through a header pipe to one or more TLM-521 eductors submerged in the tank.
02
Venturi Jet Forms
Fluid accelerates through the converging nozzle, creating a high-velocity jet that dramatically reduces local pressure.
03
Tank Liquid Entrained
The low-pressure zone draws in surrounding tank liquid at 4–5× the motive flow rate — no pump, no impeller.
04
Mixing & Discharge
Motive fluid and entrained liquid mix in the parallel section, then discharge as a powerful plume that circulates the entire tank.

Applications

The TLM-521 handles a wide range of viscosities and liquid types — including slurries and suspensions — making it especially useful for maintaining uniform liquid characteristics throughout tank contents.

  • Blending and pH uniformity
  • Temperature equalization
  • Solids suspension and distribution
  • Stratification prevention
  • Gas dispersion
  • Non-miscible liquid mixing
  • Slurries and suspensions
  • Viscous liquid agitation
