System Overview
The Simpliport® 180 System is a complete boiler water level gage solution consisting of a stainless-steel gage body, LED illuminator assembly, and wide-angle optic viewing hood assembly. There are no service parts associated with the viewing hood assembly.
Manufactured and installed to meet ASME Boiler Code Section I requirements, the Simpliport 180 is the only high-pressure gage with a repairable body — providing significant economic advantage over competitors. Over 15,000 units are in service worldwide.
Bi-Color Reading Principle
The Simpliport operates on light refraction principles. Light does not refract through water on the same line that light reflects through steam. By calculated placement of a light source and gage glass, the gage provides an unmistakable two-color display:
Green Ports = Water
Ports at and below the water line display green — indicating liquid water present in the boiler.
Red Ports = Steam
Ports above the water line display red — indicating steam space above the water level.
P4000 Series Gage Body

The P4000 Series features a spiral wound sealing gasket, unique inner support ring, and cushion pad — eliminating the hot-torque step required on past models. The gage is ready-to-use upon installation. Gage bodies are manufactured from Type 304 stainless steel for extreme strength, light weight, and durability. The six-port Model P4006 (12-5/8 inch visibility) weighs only 14 lbs.

NEC Class I, Division 2 · Groups A, B, C, D · T4 · ETL US/Canada
Illuminators for NEC Class I, Division 2 applications use the same viewing hoods as ordinary location models. Available with local or remote power supplies. Remote models include an integral junction box for wire terminations; the power supply can be located up to 1,000 feet (303 meters) away from the illuminator. Dimensions are identical to ordinary location models.
