High Pressure Armored Level Gages

Series 32 (to 4000 PSI) · Series 40 (to 5000 PSI) · Series 51 (to 10,000 PSI) · ABS Certified · NACE MR0175

Jerguson high-pressure armored level gages cover the full range from 4000 PSI through 10,000 PSI in three series. The Series 32 (to 4000 PSI) adds recessed mid-span tie-bar supports for higher pressure ratings without blind spots, and carries ABS Certification and NACE MR0175/MR0103 compliance for marine, offshore, and sour-service applications. The Series 40 (to 5000 PSI) is a heavy-duty design with a one-piece solid bar stock chamber and interchangeable sectional covers. The Series 51 (to 10,000 PSI) is the highest-pressure glass gage in the Jerguson line — a one-piece bar stock chamber with tie-bars to resist deflection, Viton® O-ring port seals, and transparent borosilicate glass conforming to BS3463, JIS B8211, and DIN 7081.

Available Series

Series 32To 4000 PSIHigh Pressure

The Jerguson Series 32 is a high-pressure armored level gage that closely resembles the Series 20 in appearance, with the critical addition of mid-span supports (tie-bars) to achieve higher pressure ratings. The mid-span support is recessed — unlike competitive designs — so there is no blind spot in the visible length. Recessed gasket seats prevent lateral movement and gasket blow-out. ABS Certified. Wetted parts conform to NACE MR0175 and MR0103. All parts listed in ASTM and ASME B31.3.

Series 40To 5000 PSIVery High Pressure

The Jerguson Series 40 is a heavy-duty high-pressure armored level gage for the most demanding process conditions. Available in both reflex and transparent types — reflex gages are assembled with a single plain glass for greater strength. The one-piece liquid chamber is machined from solid bar steel. Interchangeable sectional gage covers and glasses are tightly locked over the liquid chamber with special bolts and nuts. Recessed gasket seats have a fine finish to provide a positively leakproof seal. The Series 40 is designed for high-pressure chemical, petrochemical, and refining applications where standard gages are not adequate.

Series 51To 10,000 PSIUltra-High Pressure

The Jerguson Series 51 is a specially designed high pressure liquid level gage capable of withstanding pressures to 10,000 PSI at 100°F. The one-piece chamber is machined from solid bar stock carbon steel or stainless steel, drilled lengthwise and crosswise at each port with tie-bars left in between to resist deflection under pressure. Viton® O-rings seal each port and are seated in recessed circular channels to assure proper seating action. Available in transparent glass only. Conforms to BS3463, JIS B8211, and DIN 7081.

High Pressure Construction Features

One-Piece Bar Stock Chamber

No weld seams in the pressure boundary. Chamber machined from solid bar stock — A696 Grade C carbon steel or A511 TP316L stainless steel.

Forged or Bar Stock Covers

Heavy forged or bar stock covers provide maximum strength at the glass retaining interface. Alloy steel bolts and nuts (A193 B7 / A194 2H) standard.

Recessed Gasket Seats

Gasket seats are recessed in both chamber and cover. Fine finish prevents lateral movement and gasket blow-out under pressure cycling.

Tempered Borosilicate Glass

Tempered borosilicate glass per BS 3463, JIS B8211, and DIN 7080/7081. Aluminosilicate glass option extends temperature rating to 800°F.

Mid-Span Tie-Bar Supports (Series 32)

Recessed mid-span supports allow higher pressure ratings without creating a blind spot in the visible length — a key advantage over competitive designs.

Mica Shield Option

Mica shield protects glass from corrosive, caustic, or wet steam service. Required for steam above 406°F (208°C). Available on all high-pressure series.
