Jerguson® Safety Ballcheck Valves are an essential component of any glass level gage assembly. In addition to isolation, they provide automatic shut-off in the event of a catastrophic glass or gasket failure — the stainless steel ballcheck upstream from the seat instantaneously shuts off flow of the medium being gaged. Available with integral, union, or bolted bonnet arrangements for application pressures ranging up to 10,000 PSI. Jerguson has developed over 100,000 special designs to meet customer needs.

360 Series — Models 363 & 364
Color Indicator Ring — Standard on All 360 Series
The Jerguson 360 Series is an innovative metal-seated safety ballcheck valve that locates an internal ballcheck within a metal-seated valve body — a patented core design (US Patent #9,377,113 B2) that solves a widespread problem with traditional ballcheck valves. During commissioning with liquid already present in the vessel, traditional ballcheck valves can cause the ballcheck to engage prematurely, producing a false level reading. The 360 Series' bypass mode eliminates this entirely — it is impossible to get a false level reading during commissioning with the 360 Series valve.
All 360 Series valves include a color indicator ring as standard — confirming valve status at a glance from across the plant floor.
Standard Features
Simplified Commissioning Procedure
Unlike traditional ballcheck valves, the 360 Series uses a bypass mode to commission the gage when liquid is already present in the vessel — preventing premature ballcheck engagement and false level readings.
Open Top Valve to Bypass
With liquid present in the vessel, open the top valve to the By-Pass position. This routes flow through the bypass circuit without engaging the ballcheck.
Open Bottom Valve to Bypass
Open the bottom valve to the bypass position. Fluid will now flow through the valve and into the glass without seating the ballcheck — eliminating false level readings.
Wait for Level to Stabilize
Allow the level in the gage glass to rise and stabilize. Once the level stops rising, the gage is reading the true vessel level.
Move Both Valves to Run
Move both valves to the run position. The valves are now ready for normal operation. If a glass or gasket failure occurs, the ballcheck will automatically engage and isolate the gage.
All series feature a stainless steel ballcheck upstream from the seat that instantaneously shuts off flow in the event of gage glass breakage. Available in straight and offset patterns with union or NPT gage connections.

600 lbs. ANSI · Bolted bonnet (OS&Y)
API 624 Certified (standard)
Designed for flat glass gages, instrument piping, and other applications requiring a rugged, lightweight valve. Pressure and temperature ratings to 600 lb. ANSI flange standards. All valves now provided with low emissions packing and certified to API 624 as standard.

Safety Note: Safety ballcheck valves must be properly commissioned before placing a gage assembly in service. Improper commissioning of traditional ballcheck valves can result in false level readings. The Jerguson 360 Series eliminates this risk through its patented bypass commissioning mode.
