The Jerguson LumaStar™ LED Illuminator enhances visibility of liquid level gauges using high-output, long-life LEDs. Designed for hazardous locations, the system combines an explosion-proof power supply with an intrinsically safe LED light bar.

7. Installation – 115 / 230 VAC Models

⚠️ Safety First

Installation must be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with all local and national codes.

Step-by-Step Wiring

  • Lock out and verify power is OFF
  • Open power supply cover
  • Connect AC Line and Neutral to AC IN terminals
  • Verify ground connection (internal & external lugs)
  • Replace cover and tighten locking screw
  • Apply power and confirm LED illumination

Bold red callout:
Do NOT connect AC input to DC output — permanent damage will occur.

Wiring Highlights

9. Bracket Installation

Universal Bracket

  • Pre-assemble brackets on illuminator
  • Align with second bolt from gauge end
  • Wrap cable above gauge bolts
  • Tighten lower bracket first, then top

✔ Fits gauges up to 4.375 in (111 mm) wide

Alternate & Reflex Brackets

  • Clear “When to use this bracket” callouts
  • One diagram per step
  • Red “Gauge must be out of service” warning for Reflex gauges

 

10. Maintenance Routine Cleaning

  • Clean glass window with damp cloth only
  • Do not spray cleaners directly on unit
  • Never use abrasives or metal tools

Fuse Replacement

  • Fuse Type: E-F-DIN-0250 T
  • Accessed inside power supply enclosure

11. Troubleshooting (Decision-Based)

LEDs Not Illuminated?

  • Check red power indicator LED
  • Verify AC or DC input voltage
  • Inspect fuse
  • Check DC output (9–15 VDC)
  • Inspect connector pins
